Influencing for Impact

Thursday, January 8th, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Influencing others up, across and down in the organization is a critical skill to drive mutual agreement, involvement, and buy-in that generates employee commitment and business results. Strengthening your personal influence starts with understanding your sphere of influence and being open to influence yourself. In this workshop, you'll learn an effective influence mapping strategy that will help you frame issues for the appropriate audience (e.g. allies, fence sitters), use information to influence thinking and outcomes, and improve your sphere of influence beyond the boundaries of formal authority.

Leadership Presence

Tuesday, January 20th, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Regardless of intellect, experience, and the ability to deliver results, many individuals fall short of their leadership potential and limit their career growth because they lack "leadership presence." Its an important quality that gives others confidence and helps followers feel well led. At the very core, leadership presence is about credibility. But what makes some leaders more credible than others? This workshop focuses on the Seven Elements of Leadership Presence™ — first impressions, strategic positioning, communication, interpersonal awareness, physical presence, articulation, and formal presentation skills. This workshop will give you the tools and tips you need to have the presence and impact required to be a high performance leader.

Leader as Strategist

Tuesday, January 27th, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

The increasing pace of change in the world economy has put a premium on effective business planning and can easily wash away strategies that are not constantly revisited to reflect new market realities. Its also easy for a single unit or function within an organization to lose sight of the larger strategic direction. Strategist is an essential role for all leaders in all parts of an organization. In this workshop, you will work with tools to help you keep abreast of the external and internal forces affecting the business choices you need to make and a template for setting an aligned strategic agenda for your part of the organization.

Becoming a Powerful Coach

Thursday, January 22nd, 8:30 - 12:30 p.m.

Leaders inspire high performance. Powerful coaching is a process of interpersonal influence that improves performance, enhances overall effectiveness, and creates self-sustaining change. Are you a competent coach? How powerful is your feedback? In this workshop you'll learn to deliver powerful feedback for development. You'll use the MDA Value Pyramid™ to measure your coaching effectiveness and learn to use a coaching scorecard to identify and track critical coaching outcomes for your people and yourself.

Being a Courageous Team Leader

Thursday, January 29th, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

The high performance leader builds strong teams where people are united in the pursuit of goals and strategies and collaborate to accomplish results. The leader helps the group establish direction and priorities that are aligned with business unit and organization goals and ensures they are tackling the right issues as a team. In this workshop, you will use a robust model to assess the current effectiveness of your team and build a strategy for leveraging the strengths of the team and addressing its development needs.

Leading in Times of Change

Tuesday, January 13th, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

People hate Change! Or do they just hate change that feels chaotic and pointless? The challenge for leaders in times of change is maintaining the delicate balance between the consistency required to get results and the experimentation and risk-taking required to adopt new behavior. Research shows that leaders who use a defined process to manage this balancing act with their people get significantly better results in day-to-day performance and long-lasting positive change. This workshop will provide you with a process and tips for preserving the essentials that ensure excellence today while fostering the changes required for excellence in the future.

Managing Conflict

Tuesday, February 3rd, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Conflict is a natural part of doing business, whether we approach it as a "necessary evil" or a welcome opportunity to explore differences in points-of-view depends on how well equipped we are to work toward effective resolution. In this workshop, you will use the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrumenttm to understand your own repertoire of conflict-handling skills and gain insight into the skills of others. You will explore several situations that call for different approaches and skills and work on addressing a conflict situation of your own.

High Impact Accountability Conversations

Thursday, January 15th, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

The word "accountability" often strikes fear in the hearts of managers and employees alike. However, the path to consistent, excellent business results begins with individual accountability conversations that focus on the positive impact employees can make when committed to individual, team, and organizational goals. In this workshop you will learn to structure conversations that focus on the three "Cs" of true accountability: clarity, commitment, and consequences.
