BATZ PROMOTED TO PRESIDENT OF MDA LEADERSHIP CONSULTING; TWO NEW PARTNERS ADDED TO OWNERSHIP TEAM

MINNEAPOLIS, JULY 25 – MDA Leadership Consulting announced today that Paul Batz has been promoted from managing partner to president of the firm, responsible for leading the company's corporate functions and overseeing the growth and quality of the firm's three practice areas: Talent Management, Organizational Performance and Leadership Development. 

"Paul has been an outstanding leader at MDA since he joined the firm in 2001," said Sandra Davis, CEO and founder of MDA Leadership Consulting. "Under Paul's direction, MDA has seen double digit growth for the past 4 years, including significant expansion of services." 

MDA is also pleased to announce that Scott Nelson, M.A., vice president of leadership development, and Sarah Murphy, Ph.D., principal consultant, have been added to the firm's ownership team.

"Paul's promotion and the expansion of our ownership team is an intentional part of our succession planning strategy to ensure continued growth well into the future," said Davis.

Batz has been with MDA Leadership Consulting since 2001, serving as a consultant and executive coach to senior leaders at Fortune 500 organizations.  He became one of the firm's owners in 2004 and was named managing partner in 2005.  He served for three years as the youngest chairperson of the board of directors for Lutheran Social Services (LSS) of Minnesota, the state's largest human services organization, and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Association for Corporate Growth.  His first book, Inspire, Persuade Lead: Communication Secrets of Excellent Leaders, is in its second publishing.

Scott Nelson, M.A., joined MDA in 2006 to lead its leadership development practice area.  He has worked with a wide range of local and national companies to develop selection systems, competency models, and succession systems, but his real passion is in building leadership capacity through large-scale customized development programs. Scott completed his B.A. in Psychology from Luther College and has a  M.A. degree in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology from the University of Tulsa.

Sarah Murphy, Ph.D., joined MDA in 1997, bringing experience in human resource management consulting, sales management, and outplacement coaching.  As a principal consultant in MDA's talent management practice, she has particular expertise in developing selection systems, competency models, psychological assessment for selection and development of leaders, and executive coaching.  Sarah completed a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Winnipeg, Canada, and earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota.
