Business Challenge:
One of the fastest growing financial organizations in
North America has integrated a merger and experienced a 90 percent
turnover of its executive management team. The organization
has grown by guaranteeing nimble, industry-leading customer service
response times. The results have left the organization with a
tactical, fire, ready,
aim middle management corps. The CEO
was interested in developing the leadership skills of middle
management to improve the sustainability of the long-term
strategy.
Solution:
Together with the VP of HR, MDA developed a High Performance Leadership
action learning program that was tailored for the organization to
focus on its values. It included both senior management and middle
management. MDA developed content to help management solve
real-world problemsassignments that
would advance the business while middle managers learned leadership
skills. Internal, senior corporate leaders were trained to
facilitate the action learning as the program grew.
Result:
The CEO has seen a new level of leadership at many levels and
people are being more strategic in their decision making.
Organizational communication has improved exponentially and clearly
a select group of managers has demonstrated a greater capacity for
leadership in the future. The organization is implementing a more
intentional leadership succession and development program for
individuals.
