Jason Ortmeier is passionate about helping leaders grow. His intuitive nature and insightfulness help him to understand his clients and offer high impact advice, leading to the achievement of aggressive results. Clients recognize Jason as a consultant who is knowledgeable, motivating, caring yet direct, guiding them effectively through change they are experiencing, and pushing them to their growing edge.
Jason joined MDA's leadership development practice in 2005, with a focus on leadership assessment and executive coaching. Prior to that he was with a global consulting firm specializing in organizational change and leadership transitions. In that role, he built a strong business foundation, learning how organizations work and what makes leaders successful.
Jason is adept at facilitating and leading high impact group sessions as well as coaching one-on-one, and has worked with hundreds of executives, including leaders from more than 20 Fortune 100 companies. While he has significant experience working with large corporations, he also has a passion for helping smaller, growth-oriented organizations reach their goals by enhancing the impact and effectiveness of leadership.
His in-depth knowledge of the development process, business acumen and outstanding listening skills are assets when coaching new, mid, and senior level leaders. He prides himself on his experience helping clients successfully navigate their development from a "holistic" perspective, namely, teaching people to make empowered choices that are in alignment with both personal and organizational goals.
Jason has an extensive background in counseling, education, and training, spending his early career in the non profit mental health arena as a program manager, therapist, and consultant. He graduated with high honors from the University of St. Thomas with a Masters Degree in Counseling and Professional Psychology and has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Dakota.
Behind the scenes Jason is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing. He has also been known to spend the summer months on the golf course and playing armchair general manager for his beloved Minnesota Twins.
