With over 20 years in the Industrial/Organizational Psychology field, it makes sense that Mia Mulrennan would be passionate about applying her knowledge of psychology to help companies develop their talent at all levels of the organization. Mia’s strong commitment to customer service and exceeding expectations grew out of her early career work in the hospitality industry. Her honest, thoughtful and focused approach to developing talent has successfully helped many companies in a wide variety of industries improve their leadership bench strength.
Mia has extensive experience integrating assessment results into development goals. She has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by organizations in high-touch customer service industries. Mia is accomplished in delivery services related to talent management, individual assessment, training and development, management consultation and career development. Not only has she succeeded in helping many organizations, but on an individual client basis she has also helped to improve people’s work lives and careers.
Prior to joining MDA in 2010 Mia spent time honing her consulting skills at Personnel Decisions International and in her own successful consulting practice. She has coached leaders from mid-manager to the executive level, created leadership development programs and curriculum, and facilitated powerful group development.
Mia completed her B.A. in Psychology at Stony Brook University in New York and her Psy.D., Clinical Psychology at the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology. She is currently on the faculty at St. Catherine University in both the Leadership Institute and Masters of Organizational Leadership Programs. She has presented to industry leaders in business and psychology at events such as: HR Professional National Conference, Women in Leadership Global Forum, and the Minnesota Psychological Association Annual Meeting.
When she’s not busy exceeding client expectations, Mia loves spending time with her husband and three children. She enjoys reading, going to the theater, and listening to NPR. She considers herself a devoted pet owner, loves to play the guitar, fish (especially light tackle ocean fishing), and travel - especially if it gets her close to the ocean.
