Sharon Sackett is at her best when building and developing talent management and leadership development programs for corporate clients who are driven to put the best people in the right places. She has an energetic “roll up your sleeves” approach to client partnerships that is both thoughtful and practical. Sharon is passionate about making sound talent recommendations based on best practice tools and methodologies—helping clients build their "talent acumen" and show value for their organizations.
Sharon’s experience as an assessment consultant and executive coach includes engagements with General Mills, US Bank, Ecolab, and Macy's, just to mention a few. Her specific expertise includes assessment centers, competency design, research and validation projects, and leadership coaching around priority setting and increaing personal influence.
She is an “MDA boomeranger”—she first joined MDA in the early 1990's and returned in 1998 as a senior consultant. While away, she taught doctoral students and conducted research as a faculty member at the University of Iowa. She earned her B.A. in Business Administration and Psychology from Hamline University and her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota. Her teaching and coaching careers have converged around the theme of career choice and job satisfaction for professionals.
Sharon recently finished her term as President of Minnesota Professionals for Psychology Applied to Work (MPPAW). Away from the office she is athletic—turning her previous marathon-running pursuits into biking and skiing with her spouse and two children in Minneapolis.
